our Process

Step 1. Reduce pain & Promote Healing

The initial phase of the Movement First Process is dedicated to reducing discomfort and pain, as these are typically the primary motivations for patients seeking our services. Our team of skilled Physiotherapists and Chiropractors employ a range of hands-on techniques designed to effectively mitigate symptoms and get you moving again.

Step 2. Restore Optimal movement patterns

Following the initial alleviation of the injury and effective pain management, our attention shifts towards addressing the fundamental causes underlying the injury. Our active rehabilitation approach is centered on the meticulous identification and subsequent correction of the root-cause movement patterns that may have lead to the injury in question

Step 3. Build REsiliance

The final stage of our protocol involves the integration of functional strength training tailored to your specific objectives. Having addressed any discomfort and restored optimal movement patterns, the systematic application of progressive loading to the targeted area will bolster its resilience. This approach aims to facilitate a seamless return to favored activities, mitigating concerns regarding potential re-injury.

Your Movement experts

Experience the Movement first Difference

1-on-1 treatment

At every appointment, you get your Physio’s/ Chiropractor’s undivided attention.

Unlike other clinics in Edmonton, we don't see multiple patients at once to maximize booking slots. Our first and foremost priority is our patient's recovery!

Extended Treatment Times

We won't rush you through appointments. We believe in longer treatment times to support you through your physiotherapy.

This extra time allows us to work in the gym to guide you through the exercises, give you space to ask questions and go over perfecting techniques that you can implement outside the clinic.

Focused On Getting To The Source Of Your Injury

Rather than solely addressing pain when you're experiencing it with passive physical therapy techniques, we'll get to the source of your problem, so we can create a comprehensive treatment plan that will help you feel and move better in the long run.

Evidence-based

Your time and health are important to us.

We don’t rely on passive treatments like TENS machines, heat packs, or ultrasound therapies. For most musculoskeletal conditions, strength training (or corrective exercise) and manual therapy is shown to be highly effective (if not the most effective) treatment option.

We will always employ the best available evidence with clinical judgment to carry out your therapy to achieve optimal results.
