Cindy Freyne
Physical Therapist
Hi there, I’m Cindy!
I grew up on the west coast of Ireland playing lots of sports from a young age, particularly soccer, and was introduced to physiotherapy pretty early for my own injuries. I was fascinated by the rehab process and intrigued by the body’s ability to heal, and the role that physiotherapy played in facilitating this process. It didn’t take long for me to settle on a career path.
After receiving my BSc. in Health Science and Physiology, I went on to study Physiotherapy at Trinity in Dublin. I had lots of exciting roles early on in my career; treating sports injuries pitch side, representing the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists at the European surfing championships in 2011, and being mentored by a veteran international rugby league physiotherapist. Fast-forward to 2013 - I traded my surfboard for a snowboard and moved to Alberta!
These days I can be found in clinic treating patients of all ages and activity levels. I take a client centred approach to treatment and use a combination of exercise, dry needling/IMS and manual therapy to provide pain relief and promote optimal function. I place a special emphasis on client education.
For my pregnant and post-partum patients experiencing pelvic pain, I incorporate Rost Therapy, and I also offer pelvic floor physio for women experiencing incontinence. So whether you find yourself recovering from an injury, or you simply want enough pain free mobility to play with your grandkids – I can help. You might find yourself pain-free, but wanting to introduce exercise or a new activity to your life and don’t know where to start – I can help with that too!
In my time away from work you can find me chasing my young family, hiding with a hot drink and a good book, or planning my next travel adventure.
I look forward to seeing you soon at M1 Summerside!
